On Sunday 25th April all the core people of the guild were finally online at the same time and we decided to go for Blood Queen Lana'thel and Sindragosa.
Here are the results:
Hopefully we will finally achieve our dream of defeating the Lich King in our upcoming raid.
Yes, it's true! You can become the proud owner of this monthly award which includes fame, gold and perks most people only dream of! But how can you get to there? I'll show you how!
- Sign up for our raids and show up inside the instance within raid start! - Show exemplary behaviour by being nice and helpful, putting others' needs ahead of your own both in raids and otherwise - Be present on the website/forum (~1 post a week is enough to show your presence) - Anything else that goes to show you deserve the award!
The winner* will be handed the grand prize will be 1,000 gold, 10 flasks best suited for your current spec and a surprise present! But wait, there is more! This will be a monthly event, and the winner will be presented the 1st of every month, starting March 1st. At the end of the year, the one with the most wins shall have a permanent title in the guild which he or she shall keep until the year after where a new winner will receive the title.
If you know someone who's deserving credit for being a cool person, feel free to tell the story here.
*if noone is eligible for the title, there will be no winner announced for the month
I uploaded a copy of our first Rotface-kill to youtube. Watch it here and subscribe to "TheNerdRager" if you want to get all our future first-kills as soon as they're uploaded. I am going to upload a better version once I've installed a movie-editing program I like. Probably ending up with an illegal version of Adobe Premiere (sssh!).

Resilience will, as of very soon (could be applied today according to Ghostcrawler), reduce damage taken with twice the amount it currently reduces damage. The testing will begin before next season launches, with the intention of testing it some more before it can become subject to abuse etc. The aim, according to blizzard, is to prevent teams from instantly killing off players, using PvE-gear over PvP-gear.
"We are currently in the process of applying a hotfix to buff resilience. While some modifications may be made, we intend to have this buff in effect for the remainder of the Wrath of the Lich King expansion.
The change will double the value of resilience in reducing damage done by players. So depending on their current amount of resilience, characters might experience a 10 to 20% decrease in damage taken from other players. The critical strike chance and critical strike damage reduction components of resilience will remain unaffected by this change.
We are also aware of the possibility that this change will make healing in PvP too difficult to counter. While we are not making any immediate changes to address this issue, we have prepared some further changes that will allow us to quickly deploy a PvP-only healing adjustment if we feel it is warranted.
We will be applying this change very soon while we are between Arena seasons so we can evaluate how it works in multiple PvP scenarios for the upcoming Arena season, and as we continue to prepare for Cataclysm. As we have mentioned previously, one of the goals for Cataclysm is to have a PvP environment where it is harder to regularly achieve so much damage and healing in relatively few global cooldowns compared to what we currently have in the game."
This maintenance there will have opening of third wing of Icecrown Citadel, the Crimson Halls. We will be able to face two brand new bosses, Blood Prince Councill and Blood Queen Lana’thel, on our way to the Frozen Throne. Blod Prince Council consists of three princes, Keleseth, Valanar and Taldaram, who all share a health pool. But, “only the prince empowered through Invocation of Blood can be DPSed”.
Blood Queen Lana’thel encounter “is about judicious use of the Essence of the Blood Queen mechanic, proper execution of tank switches (possibly), big spike raid heals, and hot, nasty bad-ass deeps”. Its important to say that with this new wing five attempts are added for killing end bosses of last two wings. It seems that these 15 attempts are shared between Professor Putricide and Blood Queen Lana’thel.
Interesting two bosses for sure. As always TankSpot has nice pre-release guides written for both encounters, so make sure you check it out.
